Porsche is preparing the third generation of the Boxster, which, according to rumors reported by the British journal Cars should have a more sporty and aggressive new design that will naturally accompany engines and driven a number of technical improvements to ensure the new car improve their behavior road in every situation.

As for the engines, there are two versions: the entry level will be driven by thermal unit capable of delivering a maximum power of 270 hp and maximum torque of 280 Nm (acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 5, 7 seconds, top speed of 260 km / h) while the Model S will be able to deliver 320 hp and 360 Nm respectively, from 0 to 100 in only 4.9 s.

The new 2012 Porsche Boxster will also be more bulky but not heavy: the car's overall length will grow by 37 mm, the pitch even 60 (to increase the stability of the vehicle to change direction and ride comfort) and the weight will be equal to 1320 kg and 1340 kg respectively for the version of "smooth" and for S (-15 kg compared to the current versions).

The suspension, despite the extensive review carried out by engineers and engineers at Zuffenhausen, will continue to rely on traditional McPherson front and multilink rear, while the braking system will consist of 330 mm discs (directly from the resulting solution is adopted on the Carrera 2) and an electric parking brake.

There will of course a range of accessories to satisfy even the most demanding and perhaps it will also supply a version that seems at the moment but only in the preliminary study phase.

The debut of the new Porsche Boxster is currently scheduled for the month of January 2012 at the Detroit Motor Show, while in 2015 could get new engines and even a possible redesign of the model
