Fiat Punto Evo 2013

Expert in city, the Italian manufacturer performs the first update of its Grande Punto. In fact, the Evo is his name, has new powerful engines and environmentally friendly. Check with Forza 3 if the Punto Evo is just a bluff or a real change.

In 2003, Panda breathed revival of the style within the Fiat group. Two years later, the manufacturer confirmed with the revelation of the Grande Punto in Frankfurt, before rounding up the implementation in 2007 with his 500. This evoluzione, as the Italians say, allows the Grande Punto to refresh his style well said. The new Punto, which is now known as Evo, is a reworked front while adding to the splendid original model a new bumper, so braces for pre-teen puberty. Also for the new projectors, compared to the previous model, are larger and include daytime running now. At the rear, besides the appearance of bright lights whose signature is L-shaped, one finds little change. The Sport comes off anyway the rest of the range with its rectangular exhaust visible.

Evolution is much more pronounced in the cockpit as the interior of the Evo Punto has been completely redesigned, which is very significant. No more plastic in the low-end limited life, and place treated materials such as laminated materials coating placed on the lower part of the dashboard. This has also been a dramatic evolution since it takes all forms of curves and a more careful quality plastic. The new center console so Congratulations now includes all the commands of comfort. Life on board is more pleasant, cozy, which makes the comparison with the standards of the segment is now possible, despite three centimeters more than in the Grande Punto, due to the increase in door-to-front overhang which do not benefit more to the rear seats.

The evolution continues as under the hood of the Fiat Punto Evo. Farewell to the T-Jet engine and welcome to MultiAir. The new mill, a four cylinder 1.4 liter 135-horsepower, has a unique technology which consists of controlling the intake valves via an electro-hydraulic system, which optimizes engine operation whatever the situation. The result: more than respectable performance with a 0 to 100 km / h in 8.5 seconds and shot a top speed of 200 km / h, and even if Fiat is banking on comfort rather than the dynamic part, the fundamentals of the old version, already healthy, were included, the Italian manufacturer has simply content to improve the acoustic comfort. In addition to this version, Fiat, through its Abarth sports brand, offers a 165-hp Evo Punto based on the same engine.
In Forza Motorsport 3, the Punto Sport Evo is a small revolution. The 1.4 liter is no lack of enthusiasm, but the box very long limit its use on small circuits. With very good handling, it can still attack and get the lap times. Fun to drive, she does not forget its origins in Italy and will certainly turn heads with its curves and soft eyes, even if the price is a bit high for such a small size, style and Italian Motor lively posing the pill. It is certainly far from the standards of other Italian brands, but we must admit that this Punto Evo has plenty to seduce.
