Exterior
As we had expected, and with various teasers have been confirmed, the A1 Metro Project Quattro concept and final production model largely similar. Of course those beautiful but expensive, components of the concept died before the production stage, but the Audi designers have delivered good work. Even the Benjamin of the family looks thanks to the single-frame grille and distinctive headlights like a true Audi. Nice styling detail is that the dakbogen in four different colors are available. That's different from a roof in a different color. Apart from that, of course, the distinctive LED daytime running lights to the possibilities, we see mirrors which are mounted on the door and turned on some extra wheel arches.
Interior
The interior is as we know from Audi: sporty but not least also clearly and undoubtedly an immaculate finish. Fortunately, the designers also took the trouble to design it to deviate from the other models. Striking example is the round air vents, but the flip-screen navigation. Audi has announced that when choosing colors and materials, a young and trendy audience kept in mind. Moreover, there is necessary to personalize and of course we can choose from a long series of (expensive) options.
Dimensions
With a length of 3.95 m, width of 1.74 m and height 1.42 m, the Audi A1 by far the smallest. There the passengers hardly notice, but the back will be somewhat more restrictive. The boot measures 267 liters and also has to increase to 920 liters by the rear seats are folded down into unequal parts.
Motorcycles
What engines have two TFSI and two TDI engines in the first instance to boost sales. The petrol range starts with a 86 hp and 160 Nm 1.2 TFSI. With this engine under the hood, you have to wait 12.1 seconds 100 km / h to reach and you can count on a consumption of 5.1 l/100 km (CO2 119 g / km). The top speed is 179 km / h and a five-speed manual transmission is standard. The course is fun with 122 hp and 200 Nm 1.4 TFSI. Who knows the A1 in 9.1 seconds to 100 km / h and sprinting to make a top speed of 200 km / h possible. The average consumption is 5.4 l/100 km. The 1.4 TFSI is mated to a six-speed manual, but also with the 7-speed DSG will be delivered. The diesel range consists of two 1.6 TDI engines. The lightest version takes 90 hp and 230 Nm at the front wheels and thus know to sprint from zero to one hundred in 12.2 seconds. The top speed is 179 km / h. Impressive is the consumption of just 3.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 99 g / km! The time being the most powerful diesel 105 hp (250 Nm) strong variant of the same 1.6 TDI. Coupled with a five-speed manual transmission does the sprint to one hundred in 10.8 seconds, top speed is 187 km / h and will settle for the four-cylinder diesel 3.9 l/100 km. All engines are mated to the energy recovery and have start-/stoptechniek.
Production
The production of the A1 will to take place in Brussels, the Hungarian plant in Györ the Audi engines will deliver. Around the summer, the first A1's on the public roads appear. Prices and equipment levels are ahead of the release announced. Later there will be a sporting track and S1, the A1 Sportback concept translated into a five-production model.
