2012 Toyota FT-86

2012 should finally see the arrival on the market of the new Toyota FT-86, coupe reminiscent of the Japanese in the name of the sport AE 86, 1983, in which the new model clearly wants to rebuild.

The new creature of the Japanese manufacturer of the Subaru boxer engine mount, however, modified by the direct injection system D-4S, whose main characteristic is to have a second injector placed inside the intake pipes that always adds to the injector present in the combustion chamber (a similar approach was also adopted by the magnificent Ferrari 458 Italy).

Adopted by the four-cylinder Toyota FT-86, specially designed to provide a lower center of gravity of the car, mount it, will have a displacement of two liters and will be paired with a six-speed manual version is available (characterized by short range and grafts very fast and accurate) is in the automatic mode (in this case will be present near the steering wheel paddles).

When you do not know the precise data relating to maximum power and torque, but it seems certain that it will be a limited slip differential to have the task of distributing the same power to the rear wheels.

In any case, the Japanese engineers have explicitly stated that the coupe has been designed for maximum driving pleasure and a march stable but also dynamic and agile in corners.

A certain mystery hangs around even the name of the car, which may be different for American and European markets: in the Old Continent, would Toyota Celica thinking of dusting off the name (with explicit reference to one of the oldest sports models of the Japanese), while overseas the name of the model could be the Scion.

Some rather more certainty for the presentation of the new model, which should be revealed in its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show, scheduled for next November.
